Dani is a teenage actress and singer who is regularly left in charge of her younger brother Max, his friend Ben, and their youngest baby sibling, "the baby from hell" who is only shown in a cot. As they go about their lives, they encounter some bizarre situations. Meanwhile, two aliens known as Coordinators observe their actions.

Jack plans to create a 'behind the scenes' video of Dani to help the situation, but it proves to make it worse. Eventually, Dani discovers that just being herself is by far the best thing. Meanwhile, Max wants Ben to run in the school elections, but makes it clear that Ben will be a real puppet - with Max pulling all the strings!

Against all odds, Dani gets a part in a big action movie and can take one friend with her to the exotic location. Sam and Jack vie to see who can be Dani's most indispensible friend - but manage to turn her into a selfish and vain wannabe who neither of them end up wanting to be with.
