After their marriage, Sati tells Mahadev that her every desire has been fulfilled. She apologises to him for all the humiliation he has suffered. The new bride also learns that Mahadev would want to live amidst nature, and not in the confines of a palace.

Vijaya, Sati’s sister, arrives just as the wedding feast is being planned. She taunts Shiva for making his home in the Himalayas. Nandi, Pret, Kan and others from Kailash come to the wedding feast. But it ends in chaos.

The guests from Kailash don’t know the ways of the palace, but Mahadev is happy to eat with them. Vijaya wishes to break Mahadev and Sati's marriage and shares her plans with Daksh. Sati apologises to Daksh for marrying against his will, and he consoles her. But Daksh has other plans.

On Daksh’s invitation, Mahadev decides to attend his yagna before leaving for Kailash. Vijaya keeps trying to influence Sati against Mahadev. Rishi Bhrigu predicts that there will be faults in Sati's married life. Mahadev is taken aback when he arrives at the yagna.

Daksh stops Mahadev from participating in the yagna, saying that with the animal skin around his waist and the snake around his neck, he is not clean enough to attend the ritual. Although he is unable to participate in the yagna, the gods appear and present the offerings made to the hawan to Mahadev.

Vijaya asks Daksh to persuade Lord Shiva to stay on in the palace with Sati. Daksh has a change of heart and requests Shiva to stay. Mahadev leaves the decision to Sati. Tarakasur, meanwhile, aware that his death will be at the hands of a child born to Sati, plans to attack Lord Shiva and Sati.

Sati does not wish to stay at the palace and wants to leave for Kailash with her consort at the earliest. Daksh agrees and Prasuti blesses Sati. On learning about Sati's departure, Rishi Brighu tells Daksh that it is not an auspicious move. Will the prediction come true?

The waters of the Saraswati river rise up in the path of Mahadev and Sati. He dips his foot in the river and Saraswati appears before them. Mahavev gives Saraswati a boon and declares that the spot would become the holy Tirthraj. Mahadev and Sati cherish their time together before she bids goodbye to her family.

Sati’s sisters bid her a sad farewell. Daksh is still angry because his daughter is departing with his curses, rather than his blessings. Vijaya reminds her father that he must take revenge on Shiva. Daksh assures her that it is the sole purpose of his life.

Sati assures Prasuti that she will perform her marital duties perfectly. Daksh gifts some luxurious things to Shiva as Sati is used to live a royal life. But Shiva refuses to accept the gifts, saying that being a demigod Sati will not require these things. Vijaya asks Sati not to become callous like Lord Shiva. Sati leaves her family along with Lord Shiva with gloomy eyes.

Sati makes three promises to Lord Shiva: she will obey him at all times; she will never lie to him; and she will never hide anything from him. Rishi Atharva brings his scriptures to Lord Shiva, who declares they will henceforth become the Atharva Veda. Lord Brahma’s sons are angered by this.

Saraswati is made the judge for the debate between Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma’s sons. Lord Brahma intervenes and orders his sons to accept Rishi Atharva’s work as the fourth Veda. They apologise to Sati and accept the Veda. But when Brahma’s sons praise Mahadev, Daksh puts a curse on them.

Chitrasur disguises himself as Mahadev and comes to kill Sati. Lord Shiva is enraged and beheads the asura. Sati is scared to see Lord Shiva’s anger. Tarakasur continues his attacks on the gods in order to become the ruler of the heavens.

Sati enters Kailash after performing the necessary rituals in the presence of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. She faints when she sits in Mahadev’s meditation seat. Lord Shiva gives Yoga Vidya to Sati to make her aware of her powers

Rati and Kamdev want to decorate Kailash for the union of Shiv and Shakti and Mahadev agrees. Sati awaits the moment with eager anticipation. Tarakasur calls out to the gods to come and fight him. Mahadev arrives to stop the war, but fails to convince Tarakasur.

Lord Shiva saves the gods from Tarakasur. Sati, however, is upset with him for leaving her alone on the first night of their marriage. Lord Shiva cheers her up by staging a funny drama, roping in Nandi. It is the beginning of Natya Sastra.

Both Mahadev and Daksh are invited to a yagna at Brahma's abode. Mahadev comes forward to bless Daksh. But he turns away and denounces Shiva. He announces a major yagna, to which Mahadev will not be invited. Meanwhile, Tarakasur’s son Vidyunmali summons Shiva and asks him to be his bodyguard, keeping death away.

Tarakasur covers the sun and Sati prays to Lord Shiva and asks him to save mankind from the demon. But he is in the service of Vidyunmali. Sati asks Vidyunmali to release Lord Shiva. He agrees, but on one condition: his father, Tarakasur, must be freed from his bondage.

Sati is reluctant to believe that Rama is a god and that he is virtuous. She takes the form of Sita to test him. But Rama realizes who she is. When Shiva learns this, he is angry and says he cannot consider her his wife. Meanwhile, Vijaya plots to make Sati come to her father’s yagna without Shiva.

Sati decides to test Sri Ram to find out if he is God. However, Sri Ram learns she is Sati. Lord Shiva is livid with Sati and refuses to consider her his wife. Meanwhile, Narad Muni rewards Tarakasur for saving his veena and grants him a boon. Vijaya plots to take Sati to Yagya without Lord Shiva.

Tarakasur disguises himself as Narad Muni and persuades Sati to go to her father’s yagna without Lord Shiva. Vijaya, too, convinces Sati. Then she overhears Saptrishi Bhrigu say that the whole universe will be destroyed if Sati comes to the yagna without Lord Shiva and she is scared.

Lord Shiva is pleased with Shukracharya’s penance and grants him the boon of Sanjeevni Vidya. Sati wishes to go to Daksh’s yagna with Lord Shiva; but he refuses to go without being formally invited. Sati is set on going and argues with Lord Shiva about it.

Sati insists that Mahadev should come to Daksh’s yagna, but he is firm in his refusal. Meanwhile, Daksh seeks Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi’s presence at the yagna. Mahadev tries to enlighten Sati about the significance of contemplation in life. Finally, Sati decides to join Daksh’s yagna despite Mahadev’s opposition.

Mahadev and Nandi try to stop Sati, but she is determined to attend her father’s yagna. Lord Vishnu and Brahma request Mahadev to go to the yagna, but he is unshaken. Proud of organising the ultimate yagna, Daksh stops Sati from joining the rituals. Should she have listened to Mahadev?

Rishi Dadhichi curses Daksh that he will not able to complete the yagna because the Prajapati has disrespected Lord Shiva. Sati orders the Rishi not to abandon the yagna. Daksh turns his anger onto Sati and tells her not to call him ‘father’ anymore. Sati realises her mistake.

Daksh continues to humiliate Sati by heaping abuse on Mahadev. She criticises Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Lakshmi for not controlling Daksh. She then decides to give up her life for the sake of Mahadev and attempts to jump into the fire, but Prasuti stops her. Mahadev is angered by what is happening to Sati.

Daksh’s ceremony is ruined. Unable to stand her father’s atrocities, Sati decides to end her life in the fire. She prays to the Agni Devta to consume her, but the fire god refuses. Eventually, she summons her own powers and reveals herself as Adi Shakti in all her glory. Will she renounce her life?

Sati destroys herself, triggering Mahadev’s anger. He does the Tandav and declares a war of revenge against Daksh. While Mahadev’s devotees take on Daksh’s army, Lord Brahma and Vishnu urge Daksh to surrender. Will Prajapati heed their advice?

The deities urge Lord Brahma to stop Mahadev from avenging Sati’s death. As the war between Mahadev and Daksh continues, Lord Vishnu and Brahma pray to Mahadev to calm down and protect the universe from destruction.

Mahadev is tormented by Sati’s death. Lord Vishnu conveys to him that Daksh has redeemed himself with his death and reminds him of the importance of Daksh's reincarnation. Mahadev gives new life to Daksh, who apologises for his sins. Mahadev takes Sati's body away.

Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu come to console Lord Shiva, who tells them he feels lifeless without Sati at his side. Meanwhile, Tarakasur rejoices over Lord Shiva’s misery and Shukracharya reprimands him. But Tarakasur convinces him to take advantage of the situation and attack the gods.

Tarakasur’s armies begin to attack common people and saints. The deities approach Lord Vishnu, who asks them to choose between Tarakasur’s death and an end to Mahadev’s sorrow. With the consent of the gods, Lord Vishnu makes Sati’s body fall to earth in several parts.

Nandi is tormented by Mahadev's grief and wants to make him understand Sati's power. But Mahadev pays no attention to him. Meanwhile, Tarakasur intends to attack the gods. Lord Vishnu declares that Adi Shakti herself will choose when she is to be reborn.

Mahadev realises Sati’s existence on seeing parts of her shakti peethas. Lord Vishnu and Brahma pray to Adi Shakti for Mahadev’s welfare. Mahadev recalls Sati by playing the veena. Meanwhile, Tarakasur orders his warriors to destroy Sati’s shakti peethas to ruin Mahadev’s power.
