The pursuit and capture of a criminal reunites Hooker with Officer Karen Remy, whom have previously been romantically involved with each other, but soon after, Hooker is informed that Karen is dead after being shot in her car. With the murder having signs of being a professional hit, Hooker becomes determined to find the person responsible, and his prime suspect is Karen's Police partner.
